In the early moments of a Tuesday morning in Newark, New Jersey, the life of 25-year-old Janell Johnson was tragically cut short. On August 7, 2018, just after midnight, gunfire erupted in the 900 block of Franklin Avenue within the Stephen Crane Village Housing Complex. Responders rushed to the scene to find Johnson suffering from a gunshot wound.
