On a Sunday evening in East Orange, New Jersey, a young man's life was cut short by gun violence. Eighteen-year-old Ahlayah Bowens, a male resident of the city, was on Hoffman Boulevard on June 20, 2021, when he was shot at approximately 9:10 p.m. He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
