In the spring of 2016, a life was tragically cut short in East Orange, New Jersey. Isaiah T. Peterson, a 27-year-old Black / African American male from the neighboring community of South Orange, was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, April 21, 2016. The incident occurred around 7:19 p.m. in the vicinity of McKay Avenue and Ayr Street. Despite being rushed to University Hospital, Peterson succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at 9:59 p.m.
