In the pre-dawn hours of August 23, 2021, the life of Yanquai Marlik Edwards, a 25-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short on the streets of Trenton, New Jersey. At approximately 3:45 a.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the quiet of Fountain Avenue, prompting a response from Trenton police who were alerted by a ShotSpotter activation.
