In the late evening hours of October 4, 2022, the life of 55-year-old Craig Wyatt, a male resident of Pleasantville, New Jersey, was tragically cut short. At approximately 10:47 p.m., the sound of gunfire pierced the night, triggering a ShotSpotter notification in the area of the 200 block of 4th Avenue. Pleasantville Police Department officers were promptly dispatched to the scene to investigate the alert.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Craig Wyatt outside a residence on
Hendricks Street. He was found unconscious and unresponsive, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite any efforts to render aid, Mr. Wyatt was pronounced deceased at the scene. A subsequent autopsy confirmed that the cause of his death was the multiple gunshots, and the manner of death was officially ruled a homicide.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office Major Crimes Unit, in collaboration with the Pleasantville Police Department, immediately launched a comprehensive investigation into the fatal shooting. As of the latest reports in the fall of 2025, the investigation into Craig Wyatt's murder remains active and ongoing. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects in connection with the shooting, and no arrests have been made.
