In the early hours of a Friday morning in Pleasantville, New Jersey, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. On July 10, 2015, Ronald Williams, a 23-year-old Black male, was found lying in the road on Atlantic Avenue with a gunshot wound. Emergency services were called to the scene following a 9-1-1 call just after midnight. Williams was quickly transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center for treatment, but unfortunately, he was pronounced deceased.

Williams was officially ruled a homicide, launching an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office and the Pleasantville Police Department urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in the case. Despite the efforts of law enforcement, the investigation has not led to any publicly announced arrests or the identification of any suspects in the years following the incident.

In 2019, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office renewed a public plea for information regarding the murder of Ronald Williams, along with another unsolved case from the same month, emphasizing that these homicides have not been forgotten.
