Derrick Dent, a 42-year-old African American man from Laurinburg, North Carolina, tragically lost his life on July 18, 2018. The incident occurred due to a dispute involving a woman, which escalated into a fatal confrontation. Derrick Dent was shot by Trejon Monley, a 21-year-old man, who was subsequently charged with first-degree murder and first-degree kidnapping.
