Patrolman James Spencer Johnson, aged 41, tragically lost his life on October 25, 1984, in East Lansing, Michigan. He was a dedicated officer with the East Lansing Police Department and a United States Army Vietnam veteran. On the day of his death, Patrolman Johnson was attempting to arrest a woman for auto theft at the East Glen Elderly Apartments located at 1801 Hagadorn Road.
