Charles E. Beasley, a 38-year-old police officer with the Detroit Police Department, tragically lost his life on November 22, 1988, while working undercover in a narcotics operation. Officer Beasley had served with the department for 12 years and was involved in a high-stakes operation to purchase $25,000 worth of narcotics from a dealer. The transaction was set to take place in the parking lot of a White Castle at Livernois and West Warren in Detroit.
