Police Officer Richard Michael Leskie, aged 39, tragically lost his life on July 1, 1991, while serving with the Detroit Police Department. Officer Leskie was pursuing a burglary suspect at approximately 1:30 p.m. when the incident occurred. The chase led him into the basement of a building located at Beechwood and Seebaldt streets.
