Neil Keith Wells, a 41-year-old police officer from Detroit, Michigan, tragically lost his life on April 4, 2001, while performing his duties. Officer Wells was a dedicated member of the Detroit Police Department, serving for 14 years in a unit that focused on patrolling high-crime areas. On the day of his death, Officer Wells and his colleagues were investigating a complaint of drug dealing in a partially vacant apartment building located at Cherrylawn and Ellsworth.
