Benjamin Louis Short, a 29-year-old police officer with the Detroit Police Department, tragically lost his life on March 25, 1994. Officer Short was off-duty at the time of his death, which occurred around 1 a.m. at the Tropical Hut Lounge located at 14925 Livernois in Detroit, Michigan.
