In a tragic turn of events in Detroit, Michigan, a young life was cut short in January 2014. Four-year-old Jamel Witcher Jr., a male child, died from a gunshot wound sustained inside a home on the city's west side. The incident unfolded when his four-year-old female cousin discovered a loaded rifle in a bedroom where the children were playing. Unaware of the danger, she handled the weapon, which discharged, striking Jamel in the chest.
