In the late autumn of 2013, the life of 52-year-old Michael Dean Heisler of St. Clair Township, Michigan, was tragically cut short. On Friday, November 15, 2013, Heisler was hunting on state land in Albert Township, located in Montmorency County, when he was accidentally shot. This incident occurred on the opening day of the firearm deer hunting season. The cause of the fatal shooting was attributed to the careless handling of a firearm.
