In the summer of 2014, a tragic and bizarre sequence of events unfolded in Wyoming, Michigan, culminating in the death of 25-year-old Charles Oppenneer. He and his 18-year-old, eight-months-pregnant girlfriend, Brooke Slocum, had arranged a meeting through Craigslist with a man named Brady Oestrike. The agreement, made for the late hours of July 12, 2014, was for a sexual encounter in exchange for money, with Oppenneer present.
