In the early evening of September 16, 2020, in Wyoming, Michigan, 16-year-old Santos Padilla Banegas was walking with 20-year-old Elmer Geovany Lopez Toi near the intersection of South Division Avenue and Wilbur Street Southeast. Their walk was tragically cut short when shots were fired from a passing vehicle in a drive-by shooting. The brazen act of violence left both young men with fatal injuries.
