In a tragic turn of events on March 31, 2023, 25-year-old Andrew “Andy” Gil Jr. of Wyoming, Michigan, lost his life in a shocking act of violence. The incident, which unfolded in the driveway of a local home, was determined by authorities to be a murder-suicide.
That day, a dispute between Gil and his 30-year-old relative, Louis Gonzales, escalated with fatal consequences. Gonzales shot Gil before turning the weapon on himself. When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they discovered Gil deceased inside a vehicle from gunshot wounds. Gonzales was found nearby and was pronounced dead shortly after.
The Kent County Medical Examiner's Office later confirmed the identities of both men and officially ruled the deaths a murder-suicide. Investigators recovered a firearm at the scene, which supported their conclusion that Gonzales was the sole perpetrator.
