On a late summer evening in Detroit, Michigan, the life of 26-year-old Martell Harris was tragically cut short. Known affectionately as 'Cash Tells' to his friends, he was remembered for his kind spirit, intelligence, and a love for sports and music. His generosity and wisdom left a positive influence on those who knew him.
The fatal incident occurred around 11:10 p.m. on September 4, 2016, in front of a home on Coyle Street. An argument broke out between Martell and another man, identified as 25-year-old Desmon Armon Jackson. The verbal dispute escalated with devastating consequences. Jackson produced a firearm and fatally shot Martell in the head. When police arrived, they discovered Martell lying on the front lawn; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Another man was also shot multiple times during the altercation but survived his injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
In a bizarre turn of events following the shooting, Jackson fled into the house, removed all his clothing, and ran naked into the street. His attempt to escape was short-lived, as police quickly apprehended and arrested him. Desmon Armon Jackson was subsequently charged with several serious crimes, including first-degree murder, assault with intent to murder, and felony firearm. He was later arraigned at Detroit's 36th District Court to face the charges related to the violent death of Martell Harris.
