On the evening of November 19, 2022, Daniel Jones, a 42-year-old male social justice advocate from Detroit, Michigan, was fatally shot while sitting in his car at a Shell gas station situated at the intersection of 8 Mile and Greenfield Roads. Jones, who had previously been incarcerated, had transformed his life and was deeply committed to criminal justice reform and voter engagement initiatives across Detroit and the state of Michigan.
