Shirmarkco Carson, also known as "Markie," was shot and killed on June 22, 2013, in Detroit, Michigan. The incident took place in the 17000 block of Stout Street, located between Santa Clara and Santa Maria near Evergreen and West McNichols. Shirmarkco, aged 36, was among many victims of gun violence in Detroit during that year, a period marked by high crime rates throughout the city.
