Frankie Wright, along with Joseph Bloom and George Cohen, was fatally shot on March 28, 1927, in what became known as the Milaflores Massacre. This incident took place in Apartment 308 of the Milaflores Apartments in Detroit, Michigan. The massacre was allegedly in retaliation for the murder of saloon keeper Johnny Reid and Purple Gang drug peddler Jake Weinberg, as well as the kidnapping of several local gamblers connected to the Purple Gang.
