Stanley Paul Carter, a 59-year-old Army veteran from Hamtramck, Michigan, was tragically shot and killed on September 16, 2015, near a DDOT bus stop on Woodward Avenue at Tennyson Street in Highland Park, Detroit. The incident occurred around 5:30 a.m. as Carter was on his way to work. According to the Wayne County Medical Examiner’s Office, Carter was shot in the chest during what appeared to be a botched robbery.
