On a late Saturday night in Detroit, the life of 16-year-old Forest Rochon was tragically cut short. On March 25, 2017, the Black/African American teenager was near Steve's Soul Food on Grand River when an argument erupted between two groups. The dispute escalated into gunfire around 11:30 PM, and Forest was one of four teenagers struck by the bullets. He was rushed to Detroit Receiving Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other three teens who were shot sustained injuries but survived.
