Devante Jones, a 23-year-old Wayne County Corrections Officer, tragically lost his life on September 20, 2021, in Detroit, Michigan. Jones was shot multiple times while fleeing from his vehicle at the intersection of East Forest Avenue and Chrysler Drive around 4:50 a.m. He was rushed to Detroit Receiving Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after. The incident occurred just a few hours after Jones had finished his shift at the Wayne County Jail.
