In the early hours of September 17, 2019, tragedy struck on the west side of Detroit, forever altering the lives of a local family. Mohamad Al-Edani, an 18-year-old male, was inside a residence in the 6300 block of Memorial Street, near Paul Avenue. At approximately 12:30 a.m., while he was lying on a couch, an unknown assailant fired multiple shots, fatally wounding him.
The sudden and violent nature of the incident sent shockwaves through the community.
The Detroit Police Department promptly launched an investigation into the homicide, canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses and any potential leads. Despite their efforts and appeals to the public for information, the perpetrator remained unidentified and at large.
In an effort to bring justice for Al-Edani and his family, Crime Stoppers of Michigan offered a cash reward of up to $2,500 for any information that would lead to an arrest in the case. The case garnered attention on social media, with community members sharing information and offering condolences to the grieving family. However, despite these efforts, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
