The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. in the 9100 block of Hartwell Street. Webster, an employee at Motor City Casino for over two decades, was discovered by neighbors with multiple gunshot wounds. The shooter had fled the scene before police arrived.
Known to his loved ones as 'Dig,' Webster was a graduate of Mackenzie High School and had also attended welding school. He was remembered for his love of sports, drawing, traveling, and scary movies, and had a passion for singing and writing songs and poetry. At the time of his death, he was pursuing new goals, training for his first bodybuilding competition and working on his autobiography. His sudden and violent death left his family, friends, and community in deep mourning.
The investigation into Roderick Webster's murder is ongoing, and as of now, no arrests have been made, and no suspect has been publicly identified. Authorities have been actively seeking information from the public to help solve the case. Crime Stoppers of Michigan has offered a cash reward of up to $2,500 for any information that leads to an arrest.
