In the quiet neighborhood of Ypsilanti, Michigan, the life of 21-year-old Brian Aldin Matthews III, known to his loved ones as Trey, was tragically cut short on the evening of January 11, 2020. A Black / African American male, Matthews was in Nancy Park when he was fatally shot multiple times. The gunshots, which rang out around 8:20 p.m., prompted a response from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, his wounds proved to be fatal.
