Allen J. Shevrovich, a 25-year-old Caucasian male, tragically lost his life on August 24, 2017, in Ypsilanti, Michigan. Known for his affable and outgoing personality and a deep passion for music, his death was the violent outcome of a planned robbery disguised as a drug transaction. On that fateful evening, Shevrovich, accompanied by his fiancée, Kellsey Brehmer, and a middleman, Dallas Stone, arranged to sell marijuana to David Skinner and Rasean Curtis. The meeting took place inside Brehmer's vehicle, where she was driving, Shevrovich was in the front passenger seat, and the other three men were in the back.
The transaction quickly soured when a disagreement arose over the quantity of the marijuana. It was at this point that Skinner and Curtis, who were armed, revealed their true intent to rob Shevrovich. The situation rapidly escalated into a violent confrontation, culminating in Shevrovich being fatally shot. The aftermath of the shooting set in motion a thorough investigation by law enforcement.
The investigation led to the identification and subsequent arrest of David Skinner and Rasean Curtis. Both men were charged with first-degree felony murder and armed robbery. During the ensuing trial, it was revealed that Skinner had orchestrated the meeting with the premeditated intention of robbing Shevrovich, using the drug deal as a pretext. The evidence presented in court was compelling, leading to guilty verdicts for both defendants. Consequently, Skinner and Curtis were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the murder of Allen Shevrovich.
