In the evening hours of a Monday in Ypsilanti Township, Michigan, the life of Laron Donta Henning, a 34-year-old man, was tragically cut short. On November 15, 2021, authorities from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 1700 block of Smith Avenue around 6:30 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Upon their arrival, they discovered Henning suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical services transported Henning to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead. Gary Demonn Chambers, 27 years old at the time, was taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting.
