Arshon Evans, a 17-year-old from Ypsilanti, Michigan, tragically lost his life on September 23, 2021, due to gun violence. His death was part of a series of violent incidents in the area during that summer, which also claimed the lives of Antonio Bishop, Arthur Ellerson, and Ziair Willis-Wilson. These incidents prompted the Ypsilanti Mayor, Lois Richardson, to convene a Community Violence Intervention Team (CVIT) to address the escalating violence and find ways to prevent further tragedies.
