In the early evening of September 17, 2019, a dispute outside a liquor store in the 500 block of West Cross Street in Ypsilanti, Michigan, escalated into a tragedy that claimed the life of 31-year-old Solomon Brown, a Black/African American male. An argument between several individuals culminated in a shooting at approximately 9:20 p.m. Brown was shot during the altercation and succumbed to his injuries.
