On March 26, 2024, Alonzo Lee Jones-Hollie, a 22-year-old man from Belleville, Michigan, was fatally shot in Ypsilanti. The incident occurred around 11 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sauk Trail Pointe apartments on West Michigan near Second Avenue. When deputies from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office arrived at the scene, they found Hollie in the driver's seat of his car with fatal gunshot wounds.
