In the spring of 2020, a quiet mobile home park in a suburb of Grand Rapids, Michigan, became the scene of a tragic and violent event. On the evening of May 8th, police were called to the Paris Estates Mobile Home Park in Kentwood, where they discovered the bodies of two men inside a mobile home. One of the victims was identified as 37-year-old Einar Edel Villarreal.
Both he and the other man, Nicholas Andrew Zepeda, had been fatally shot.
The Kentwood Police Department immediately launched an intensive investigation into the double homicide. Their efforts, which included numerous interviews and the execution of several search warrants, quickly pointed them toward a person of interest. Less than a week after the discovery of the victims, an arrest was made in connection with the killings.
With the assistance of the U.S. Marshal's Office, investigators apprehended William Morales-Sanchez on May 14, 2020. Following his arrest, Morales-Sanchez was charged with two counts of open murder and two counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. The charges suggest a deliberate and violent confrontation that ended the lives of Einar Edel Villarreal and Nicholas Andrew Zepeda, leaving a community to grapple with the sudden and brutal loss.
