In a tragic turn of events on June 9, 2020, Natasha Nicole-Lee Beebe, a 29-year-old female from Marion, Michigan, lost her life in what authorities have described as a fatal shooting. The incident unfolded in Highland Township, at a residence located on 90th Avenue near 19 Mile Road, a home belonging to Beebe's husband. Just before 5 p.m., deputies from the Osceola County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the scene following a report of a woman being shot in the neck with a pistol.
Despite the life-saving efforts of the deputies and Osceola County EMS, Natasha Beebe succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Present at the residence at the time of the shooting was Nicole Veranda Wagner, a 37-year-old woman also from Marion. Wagner was promptly arrested at the scene in connection with Beebe's death. Subsequently, she was charged with one count of open murder. The charge of open murder encompasses both first and second-degree murder, with the specific degree to be determined by a jury should the case proceed to trial; a conviction carries a potential life sentence.
Following her arrest, Nicole Veranda Wagner was lodged at the Osceola County Jail. During her arraignment in Osceola County's 77th District Court on June 11, 2020, she was denied bond. A probable cause conference was scheduled for later that month, with a court-appointed attorney representing her. While the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting was ongoing, officials had not immediately determined a possible motive for the incident.
