In a quiet home on Westland Court in Holland Township, a domestic argument tragically escalated into a double murder-suicide on April 29, 2018. The lives of 34-year-old Latthida Kommona and 51-year-old Thomas Rattanavong were cut short before the gunman, 43-year-old Phouthone 'Loy' Kaiyarath, took his own life. The incident, which unfolded in an upstairs bedroom of the residence where six adults and two children lived, was rooted in ongoing family strife.
