On December 6, 2025, 22-year-old female Cori Marie-May Watts was fatally shot during a violent incident in Muskegon, Michigan. The shooting occurred on a Saturday, and Watts sustained multiple gunshot wounds. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her injuries.
The incident also claimed the life of another individual, 25-year-old Joshua Fondren Jr.
In addition to the two fatalities, authorities reported that two men were left in critical condition, and a 4-year-old child inside the home suffered a graze wound but was expected to make a full recovery. She was known for her entrepreneurial spirit, running a small business crafting sugar scrubs and lip gloss, while also working as a home health care worker and an Amazon associate. She was described by her family as a compassionate individual who loved children and served her community, including participating in breast cancer awareness events in honor of her grandmother. She is survived by her parents, siblings, and extended family.
