In the quiet community of Jackson, Michigan, a tragic event unfolded that left family and friends in deep mourning. Sheena Sparks, a 35-year-old Caucasian woman, passed away on March 1, 2020. She and her husband, Matthew Sparks, also 35, were discovered deceased in their home located in the Walnut Ridge Mobile Home Park on Cypress Drive. The couple had both sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

The Blackman-Leoni Department of Public Safety promptly initiated a homicide investigation into their deaths. Authorities assured the public that they did not believe there was an ongoing threat to the community, suggesting the incident was isolated. Despite the active and diligent investigation by law enforcement, no arrests have been made in connection with the case, and no suspects have been publicly identified. The circumstances surrounding their deaths have left many unanswered questions for the community.

Sheena and Matthew were described by friends and neighbors as a devoted and kind couple who were deeply involved in the lives of their two sons, Tyler and Lucas. They were high school sweethearts and were known for the pride they took in their children. The local hockey communities in Lansing and Jackson, where their sons were active players, rallied around the family in the wake of the tragedy, organizing fundraising efforts to support the boys, who were placed in the care of Sheena's parents. The community continues to hope for justice for Sheena and Matthew Sparks.
