On a summer evening in Lansing, Michigan, the life of 32-year-old Marcus Jackson-Burton was tragically cut short. He was fatally shot on August 3, 2020, at the Pleasant Grove Plaza in the southern part of the city. Jackson-Burton, who had recently returned to Lansing from Texas for a visit with his family, had just dropped off his children after a summer vacation. In a devastating turn of events, he and his half-brother, Steven Lee Jackson, were both killed in the shooting.
