On the morning of May 9, 2018, the life of 27-year-old Lawrence Leslie McDonald Jr. was tragically cut short in a violent encounter in Lansing, Michigan. A lifelong resident of the city, McDonald was a father to eight children and was known for his love of basketball, having played for Eastern High School, where he graduated.
