In the small town of Hurtsboro, Alabama, a domestic dispute shattered the community's sense of peace on October 8, 2022, ending in the tragic deaths of 45-year-old Sallye Grant, a Black/African American female, and her husband, Tony Grant. The couple was found deceased in a residential area, both having sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
