On December 10, 2023, in Monroe County, Alabama, 45-year-old Kimberly Kidd was found deceased in her home, marking a tragic end to a missing persons case that swiftly escalated into a homicide investigation. Authorities discovered her body concealed beneath a pile of clothes in the bedroom of the residence she shared with 47-year-old Michael Dewayne Thomas. The Monroe County Sheriff, Tom Boatwright, reported that Kidd had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
