In the summer of 2015, a domestic dispute in Brent, Alabama, escalated to a fatal conclusion, leaving a family shattered and a community in mourning. On the evening of July 22nd, 45-year-old Catherine Leverette, a female resident of the small town, was shot at her home on Dogwood Drive. The incident also left her son, Randy Leverette Jr., with injuries. Both mother and son were quickly transported to area hospitals for medical attention.
