Derrick Metcalf, a 36-year-old African American man, was found fatally shot in the head on May 5, 2021, in the Armour Square neighborhood of Chicago. He was discovered by a neighbor around 6:05 a.m. in the 200 block of West 37th Street. The Cook County medical examiner's office ruled his death a homicide, and the Chicago Police Department stated that the circumstances of the shooting were under investigation.
