Dashawn Harris, a 21-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on June 23, 2022, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred near the 79th Street CTA Red Line station, where Harris and three others were standing on a sidewalk at 79th and Lafayette Avenue. Around 9:35 p.m., an unknown assailant approached the group and opened fire.
