Ernest Hudson, an 18-year-old male, was fatally shot in the head on July 22, 2016, in the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in the 6400 block of South Lowe Avenue. Hudson, who resided in the 6500 block of South Green Street, was transported to St. Bernard Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:55 p.m.
The Cook County medical examiner’s office confirmed his identity and cause of death.
Authorities reported that Hudson was shot just a few blocks from his home. While details surrounding the circumstances of the shooting remain limited, law enforcement officials did not immediately release information regarding a suspect or motive. However, later reports indicated that Macksantino Webb had been charged with a gun-related offense in connection with the incident, though he was not charged with Hudson’s murder.
