In the early hours of a Wednesday morning in Birmingham, Alabama, the life of 21-year-old Mia Nickson was tragically cut short. On January 10, 2024, the young Black woman was found unresponsive in the driveway of her home on Green Crest Turn, suffering from a gunshot wound.
