On January 10, 2024, at approximately 1:45 a.m., 21-year-old Mia Nickson was fatally shot outside her residence in the 800 block of Green Crest Turn, Birmingham, Alabama. Responding to a report of a person shot, East Precinct officers discovered Nickson lying unresponsive in the driveway, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue personnel arrived shortly thereafter and pronounced her deceased at the scene.
