On February 5, 2023, Makhi Urzuri Williams, an 18-year-old resident of Lansing, Michigan, was shot while driving a Jeep. Following the shooting, he was transported to Sparrow Health System but succumbed to his injuries shortly thereafter. The incident occurred in the 2100 block of Beal Avenue, where police responded to reports of gunfire and discovered Williams suffering from a gunshot wound.
