On an autumn evening in Lansing, Michigan, the life of 31-year-old David John Kessler was tragically cut short. On October 6, 2020, police responded to reports of gunfire in the 3600 block of Donald Street on the city's south side. There, they found David, a male, lying unresponsive in the road with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival, his death marking the seventh homicide in Lansing that year.
