Police Officer Mac J. Donnelly, Jr., aged 35, tragically lost his life on June 16, 1977, in Lansing, Michigan. Officer Donnelly was shot and killed by a bank robbery suspect while attempting to rescue four hostages. The incident occurred when Officer Donnelly rammed the suspect's vehicle with his patrol car as the suspect tried to flee from the bank with the hostages.
