On a Sunday evening in Muskegon, Michigan, the life of 28-year-old Todd J. 'T.J.' Mitchell II, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short. On May 23, 2021, at approximately 9:15 p.m., officers from the Muskegon Department of Public Safety were dispatched to the 700 block of West Forest Avenue after reports of gunfire. Arriving at the scene near the intersection with Seaway Drive, they discovered Mitchell inside a vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound.
